For several years the Central Statistical Office has taken active participation in many international projects initiated under the European Statistical System (ESS) on the use of geographic information in statistics.

Currently, the employees of the Central Statistical Office are involved in the implementation of activities within the following project:

• Geostat 3 - A statistical geospatial framework for sustainable development
• Merging statistical data and geospatial information in Member States
• Development of guidelines for publishing statistical data as “linked open data”
